Farhat Ishtiaq (Urdu: فرحت اشتیاق) (born June 23, 1980), is a Pakistani writer, author and screenwriter. She is best known for her romantic novels Humsafar, Mata-e-Jaan Hai Tu, Dil se Nikle Hain jo Lafz and Woh Jo Qarz Rakhty Thay Jaan Per. She mostly focuses on Pakistani society.

Farhat was born on June 23, 1980 in Karachi, Sindh. She studied civil engineering at the NED University of Engineering and Technology, Karachi.
Career[edit]
She began her writing career in 2004. Initially she wrote stories for Urdu-language digests. She has written books ranging from complete novels to compilations of short stories. Her most popular book is Woh Jo Qarz Rakhty Thay Jaan Per. She is also a screenwriter for the Pakistan television channels. Her most noted novel for television channel isHumsafar. It was followed by Mata-e-Jaan Hai Tu. Currently a serial named "Rehai", written by her as an original script, is being telecast from Hum TV.
