Farhat Ishtiaq (Urduفرحت اشتیاق‎) (born June 23, 1980), is a Pakistani writer, author and screenwriter. She is best known for her romantic novels HumsafarMata-e-Jaan Hai TuDil se Nikle Hain jo Lafz and Woh Jo Qarz Rakhty Thay Jaan Per. She mostly focuses on Pakistani society.

Biography[edit]

Farhat was born on June 23, 1980 in KarachiSindh. She studied civil engineering at the NED University of Engineering and Technology, Karachi.

Career[edit]

She began her writing career in 2004. Initially she wrote stories for Urdu-language digests. She has written books ranging from complete novels to compilations of short stories. Her most popular book is Woh Jo Qarz Rakhty Thay Jaan Per. She is also a screenwriter for the Pakistan television channels. Her most noted novel for television channel isHumsafar. It was followed by Mata-e-Jaan Hai Tu. Currently a serial named "Rehai", written by her as an original script, is being telecast from Hum TV.
