Unconditional Love

Rishi was a 10 year old boy. Just like any other boy of his age, he had the usual tantrums with his mother. Sometimes he obeyed what she said and what his father said, and sometimes he would completely ignore them. Since this was very common in kids, Rishi’s mom did not worry a lot.
It was an unexpected holiday announced by the school of Rishi and he had 5 holidays. He spent a good time with his mother. She took him for outings, they went to beach and amusement parks, had delicious dining, she cooked his favourite foods and played with him. Three days were left and Rishi’s mother wanted to clean the house and she wanted to involve
Rishi in cleaning.
She asked him to help her and as a surprise, he also accepted.
Everything was done to perfection. Rishi’s mummy was surprised with his act. While she was cooking the dinner meal, Rishi gave her a piece of paper, written by him. Since his mom was busy cooking, she asked him to place the paper on the dining table.
After cooking the meals, she took the paper left by his son and was shocked to see what he wrote!
The piece of paper contained this list:
For cutting grass in the garden – Rs. 300
For Cleaning my Room – Rs. 250
For helping you in the kitchen – Rs. 200
For buying milk and fruits for you – Rs. 50
For taking care of my sister when you were shopping – Rs. 250
For removing the garbage – Rs. 100
Total you owe - Rs. 1150 /-
She was literally shocked!
She didn’t speak a word and wrote in a paper and gave it to her son.
She wrote:
For carrying you nine months – No Charge
For getting severely sick when you were growing inside me – No Charge
For sleepless nights taking care of you for several months – No Charge
Mother and SonFor soothing you without getting annoyed whenever you troubled – No Charge
For heartfelt prayers and passing through those dreadful days when you met with an accident when you were 3 years – No Charge
Innumerable days spent without calmness and peace of mind thinking about your present and future – No Charge
For taking care of you like a precious gift I never had in my life – No Charge
You Owe: -------------------------------
The boy was in tears and rushed to his mom and gave a tight hug that he had never done before.
Rishi, unable to look at her, told, ‘Mom I love you! I’m sorry for everything!’
She kissed on his forehead. Rishi crushed the paper he wrote and threw into dustbin.
We don’t understand the love of a mother, the unconditional love!

The Wooden Bowl

Wooden BowlIt was a beautiful family of 5. The family had a weak and old man, a man and a wife, and two children, a boy and a girl. The old man was the head of the family and he had only one son, a daughter-in-law and two grandchildren.
The family had a lot of fun and enjoyed the life at its fullest. As a family, all the five used to have dinner together, every day.
As days passed by, the health of the old man gradually weakened. His vision became very poor, he wasn’t able to walk without support and his hands and legs started trembling.
One day, while serving dinner, the old man whose hands and legs shivered and who couldn’t see properly, spilt the food on the table. With shaky hands he wasn’t able to eat properly, the food dropped on the table. He let the glass of milk fall on the table cloth.
His son and daughter-in-law were completely annoyed, as he messed up the dinner. It was repeated the next day as the old man couldn’t help himself.
The son was irritated and his wife told, ‘I can’t bear this anymore. He spoils the dinner time. We should do something.’ The son agreed.
They set up a new table and chair in the corner of the hall and made him sit there to have food. The old man wasn’t able to hold the plate or glass, and he broke a few pieces of utensils. His son gave the old man a wooden bowl as it wouldn’t break.
While the rest of the family seemed to enjoy the meal time, the old man was in tears as he was having his food alone. The old man used to recollect the happy memories of his family and hardly tolerated his current situation.
The days passed by and the old man died calmly. After funeral, they were cleaning the home. The five year old boy uttered a few words to his elder sister, and the little girl said yes.
They were searching for something and it was noticed by their parent. The man asked the children ‘What are you searching for?’
The girl replied, ‘The wooden bowl which the grandpa used to have food!’
He asked, ‘But why?’
The woman told, ‘They would preserve it in memory of their grandpa!’
The children got the bowl!
The boy asked his father, ‘Dad can you buy one more bowl like this?’
Surprised by the question, he asked ‘why son?’
The girl replied, ‘see we have only one bowl. If you and momma get old, how will we feed you both with one bowl? So I asked you to buy another one for momma!’
The elders realized their mistake, but couldn’t get the forgiveness from the deceased old man!

The Ugly Mind

Inside FlightIt was a crowded flight and a beautiful lady aged around 40 years boarded the flight as the passenger. She searched for her seat and found her seat was next to a black man.
She showed that she wasn’t in a hurry to take her seat as she found it too hard and awkward to sit next to a black man.
Feeling disgusted, the beautiful lady called the air hostess and asked her to change her seat.
The airhostess requested for a reason why she would like to change the seat.
She replied, “It is impossible for me to sit next to a black man, I hate it! You copy?’
The airhostess was shocked to hear these hard words from the one who looked so dignified and composed.
She again demanded her to get her a new seat. The airhostess said she would do so and requested her to wait for a few minutes.
The airhostess went in search of an empty seat for the lady. The airhostess told the lady, ‘I’m afraid Madam, there is no vacant seat in the economy class and the flight is almost full! However, we do follow the policy to fulfil the desires of our passengers to the maximum extent possible. So, give me a minute, I will check with my captain and get back to you, as we feel it is not fair to force a passenger to have an unpleasant seat!’
The lady waited for a couple of minutes and the airhostess came.
The latter replied, ‘Madam, sorry for this inconvenience. We don’t want to make your journey unpleasant by making you sit next to someone with whom you aren’t comfortable. There is one seat available in the First Class. Although we don’t allow any passenger to move from economy class to first class, to make you a happy customer, we are doing this for the first time in our company’s history. Our captain agreed to shift from economy class to first class.!’
AeroplaneJust before the lady said any word as a reply, the air hostess humbly requested the black man and told him, ‘Dear sir, would you please shift your seat to first class? Please retrieve all your personal items from your seat and our captain would like to move you to first class as we don’t really want to have an uncomfortable journey sitting next an unpleasant person, with an ugly mind!‘
The lady was quiet and frozen! A few of the fellow passengers were happy and gave huge applause for the flight crew!
Don’t discriminate and hurt people on their colour! You don’t have any right to do so.

The Donkey on Wheels

"THERE was once a poor little donkey on wheels. It had never wagged its tail, or tossed its head, or said, “Hee-haw!” or tasted a tender thistle. It always went about, anywhere that anyone pulled it, on four wooden wheels, carrying a foolish knight, who wore a large cocked hat and a long cloak, because he had no legs. Now, a man who has no legs, and rides a donkey on wheels, has little cause for pride; but the knight was haughty, and seldom remembered his circumstances. So the donkey suffered sorely, and in many ways.
One day the donkey and the knight were on the table in front of the child to whom they both belonged. She was cutting out a little doll's frock with a large pair of scissors.
"Mistress," said the knight, "this donkey tries my temper. Will you give me some spurs?”
"Oh, no, sir knight," the child answered. “You would hurt the poor donkey; besides, you have no heels to put them on."
“Cruel knight!" exclaimed the donkey. “Make him get off, dear mistress; I will carry him no longer."
“Let him stay," said the child, gently; “he has no legs, and cannot walk."
“Then why did he want spurs?”
"Just the way of the world, dear donkey; just the way of the world."
“Ah!" sighed the donkey, “some ways are very trying, especially the world’s;“ and then it said no more, but thought of the fields it would never see, and the thistles it would never taste.

The Wooden Horse

“COME and have a ride," the big brother said. “I am afraid," the little one answered; " the horse's mouth is wide open."
"But it's only wooden. That is the best of a horse that isn't real. If his mouth is ever so wide open, he cannot shut it. So come," and the big brother lifted the little one up, and dragged him about.
"Oh, do stop!” the little one cried out in terror; "does the horse make that noise along the floor?"
“Yes."
"And is it a real noise?"
“Of course it is," the big brother answered.
“But I thought only real things could make real things," the little one said;” where does the imitation horse end and the real sound begin?
"At this the big brother stood still for a few minutes.
"I was thinking about real and imitation things," he said presently. "It's very difficult to tell which is which sometimes. You see they get so close together that the one often grows into the other, and some imitated things become real and some real ones become imitation as they go on. But I should say that you are a real coward for not having a ride."
"No, I am not," the little one laughed; and, getting astride the wooden horse, he sat up bravely. "Oh, Jack, dear," he said to his brother,” we will always be glad that we are real boys, or we too might have been made with mouths we were never able to shut!"

The Pink Parasol

THE pink parasol had tender whalebone ribs and a slender stick of cherry-wood. It lived with the willful child in the white-house, just beyond the third milestone. All about the trees were green, and the flowers grew tall; in the pond behind the willows the ducks swam round and round and dipped their heads beneath the water.
Every bird and bee, every leaf and flower, loved the child and the pink parasol as they wandered in the garden together, listening to the birds and seeking the shady spots to rest in, or walking up and down the long trim pathway in the sunshine. Yet the child tired of it all, and before the summer was over, was always standing by the gate, watching the straight white road that stretched across the plain.
“If I might but see the city, with the busy streets, and the eager crowds," he was always saying to himself.
Then all that lived in the garden knew that the child would not be with them long. At last the day came when he flung down the pink parasol, and, without even one last look at the garden, ran out at the gate.
The flowers died, and the swallows journeyed south; the trees stretched higher and higher, to see the child come back across the plain, but he never came. “Ah, dear child!" they sighed many a time, "why are you staying? And are your eyes as blue as ever; or have the sad tears dimmed them? And is your hair golden still? And your voice, is it like the singing of the birds? And your heart oh! My dear, my dear, what is in your heart now, that once was so full of summer and the sun?”
The pink parasol lay on the pathway, where the child left it, spoilt by the rain, and splashed by the gravel, faded and forgotten. At last, a gipsy lad, with dark eyes, a freckled face, and little gold rings in his ears, came by; he picked up the pink parasol, hid it under his coat, and carried it to the gipsy tent. There it stayed till one day the cherry-wood stick was broken into three pieces, and the pink parasol was put on the fire to make the water boil for the gipsy's tea.

HEALTH IS WEALTH

Good health is a boon. It is the real jewel of life, the most precious possession of man. If a man losses his health, the world losses all it§ charms for him. A good wealth of health can be obtained in a number of ways. It needs regular exercise, good food, good thoughts, and cleanliness. A healthy person does not spend money on medicines and visiting doctors. Just opposite, a sluggish person is another form of hell of diseases.

The simplest and most traditional definition of health is that it is the freedom of sickness and diseases. According to World Health Organisation (WHO), a branch of the United Nations, health is physical, mental and social well being and not merely the absence of disease. Next to life itself, good health is the most precious gift and is necessary for a purposeful existence.

'Sound mind in a sound body' is an old saying. Healthy persons can work for long hours without getting tired. They can enjoy all the pleasures of life, whereas unhealthy persons can't. The world has no charm for them. They are always worried due to their physical complications. Wealth has no importance for them.

To keep good health no money is needed. It can be achieved only through our efforts and proper health care. We can maintain good health only if we are aware of various factors which affect our health. There are certain things which are essential for keeping our body free from diseases. Nutritious food comes first.

We should takeVpnly that food which has nutritious value. Some regularity in life is also important for good health. We should get up early in the morning, go out for a walk, breathe in fresh air to keep our lungs clean and in good order, and take brisk walk, move arms while walking. Maintaining clean habits is also important in this regard. If we don't take bath regularly, don't wear clean clothes, don't eat fresh food, we may develop physical complications in the long run. Hence regularities, good habits and cleanliness have great value in maintaining good health. Balancing sleep and rest are also useful in this regard.

We know that a great deal of the waste matter in our bodies escaped by means of the skin, which contains many millions of tiny drainpipes called 'pores'. If we neglect keeping our bodies clean, these pores get choked up and the waste matter cannot escape. Hence we must keep this important point in our mind and do accordingly.

Laughter is the best medicine of good health. So, we should keep calm by overcoming anger, greed, fear, envy and enmity. Life of a healthy man is his long lasting wealth. It makes him able to enjoy life to the full. Those who are wealthy may not always be healthy but the healthy people are always wealthy.
